I am an applied microeconomist, specializing in development and public economics. My research focuses on human capital, emphasizing education and health. My doctoral dissertation "Essays on Human Capital" is funded by three major UNM awards – the Boyle Dissertation Fellowship/2021, the Dean’s Scholarship/2020-21, and a Feminist Research Grant/2019. Originally from the "City of Joy" Calcutta; I received my M.Phil. degree from the University of Calcutta, M.A. and B.A. Honors in economics from Visva-Bharati University, India.
